Black Friday Comes Early!

November 27, 2013 — 1 Comment

The fact that I’m overseas and won’t get the thrill of waking up at 3 AM to get my shopping done on Black Friday is absolutely killing me this year. It’s been a part of my Thanksgiving tradition for so long! But, thank heavens for the internet, right? This year, I’ll be online shopping Black Friday — and with that, comes less stress, less panic, and MORE options.

And an even more awesome perk to shopping online? Well, a lot of the brands are putting their sales up early! Now, that’s not to say they won’t still be offering killer doorbusters online on Black Friday outside of these early sales, but the fact that I can shop early and save is a PLUS. Wouldn’t you agree?

And so, I’ve included some links to my absolute favorite stores and listed their early bird sales and/or Black Friday deals. The links are listed in red below the logos along with the sale information and any other information you would need. [Side Note: As only a few stores have gone live today (11/27), I will be updating this post throughout the day today/tomorrow as more and more deals are revealed to me; so check back often!]

Now, get clicking and start shopping!

As a person who has always supported causes I believe in, let me introduce you to a new handbag brand I recently discovered: Angela Roi.

Angela Roi Sunday Tote in Pink (Breast Cancer) & Yellow (Children's Cancer)

Angela Roi started from the ground up by a couple (read their story, here) and is an online brand combining fashion with philanthropy. A&R produce vintage-inspired handbags that have a modern-day touch, and include cross-body handbags, totes, and shoulder handbags all made from vegan leather.

A&R offers the handbags in a variety of colors, which are all inspired by life (check out their blog!), and each color representing a different charity. For each handbag purchased, $5 is donated to the corresponding charity of the color of the handbag purchased. So if you purchase a pink tote, $5 is donated to breast cancer research. Or if you purchase a red cross-body bag, $5 is donated to HIV/AIDS research. Their handbags have even been featured on Refinery 29!

If you read my blog regularly, then you know this is JUST the thing I’ve been waiting for and I cannot wish the company more success! I don’t know about you, but this is something I can really get behind!

I’ve actually just purchased a tote this morning and cannot wait for it to arrive and get some snaps to do a follow-up article with. So, please, get shopping over at NOW! (The handbag lover in your life will love you forever — especially when you tell them the back story!)

Black Friday is only a week away, so we’ve reached the point of the year where everyone is asking: “What do you want for Christmas?” And, like every year, I’m at a loss on what to tell them. In years past I’ve put together an amazon wishlist, so the families can look at the items and purchase whatever tickles their fancy and is in their budget. However, this year all I want for Christmas is to be home, with my family.

So I sat down and started thinking about wishlists. If I were going to create my ultimate wishlist, what would it look like? What would my list have on it? So here it is, my compiled list of everything I so desperately want/need, but will just keep wishing for.

I might even convince a few of you that you want/need these things too, so I’ve included links with every picture for convenience. Just point, click, & purchase. Of course, you can always add these items to your wishlist as well, because even if your loved ones can’t afford the items, vouchers/gift cards go a long way, towards helping you snag the things you love & want, right?

The Ultimate Holiday Wish List: Fashion, Beauty, Accessories, & More

I’ve been on the hunt for a new winter coat for a while. I love my current one, but it is starting to fall apart. And on this side of the world where I walk everywhere and battle wind, rain, snow, & cold, well, that just won’t do. This color blocked coat is everything I want in a coat–sleek, stylish, and WARM.

And you really can’t do winter without the accessories, right? Here are the ones I want most because they are super soft, feel great up against the skin, and will keep you warm on those cold winter walks. You always need a hat, gloves, & a scarf!

Moving out of accessories, and into my mecca — shoes & bags. No wishlist is complete without these items, right? Shoes & handbags are easy way to style up any outfit, or to transform any look from day to night with just two simple changes. Here are the items I wish I could have in my closet!

Featuring: Nine West riding boots, Nine West ankle strap pumps, a DKNY Satchel, and a Kate Spade over-the-shouder bag.

What about beauty products? I have so many on my current wish list I could write blog posts for a solid month! Here are my top six must-haves, from brushes to fragrances. No beauty collection is complete without the perfect, everyday products that will last you until next year!

Featuring: NARS blush in Orgasm, the Sephora Deluxe Brush Set, Urban Decay lipstick in F-Bomb, Urban Decay’s Naked2 eye shadow palette, Zoya’s Zenith Winter sampler collection, and Dior’s Miss Dior fragrance.

And hey, let’s not forget about the accessories, because I’m obsessed with jewelry these days. Big, chunky statement necklaces paired with delicate, feminine earrings just add charm to any and all outfits. I’ve been smitten with rose gold watches for a bit, so, of course I have to add one of those to the list!

Featuring: Betsey Johnson “Mysterious” Eye Necklace, Kate Spade Gold-Tone Bow Stud Earrings, GUESS Quartz & Rose Gold Watch, The Limited Floral Statement Necklace and Floral Stud Earrings, and Sterling Silver Diamond & Floral Bangle

Now, I won’t lie, there are plenty of items on my wish list that have nothing to do with fashion or beauty. For instance, I’ve decided that 2014 is the year I take my photography skills to a whole new level, for blogging purposes, of course. With that in mind, I’ll actually need photo editing software–something better than the free program I’ve been using for the past few months.

After much discussion with a friend whose husband is a graphic designer, I’ve added Adobe’s Photoshop Elements to my list as it does almost as much as Photoshop with a much smaller price tag; and since I’m not going into the photography business, I’m told this will do the trick!

You also know that I’m a coffee nut. Well, if you are like me and are just a sipper, then you know that your coffee gets cold QUICK — especially during the cold winter months. All of my travel coffee mugs are cute and serve their purpose, but, wouldn’t it be great if my coffee stayed warm ALL morning? Well, look no further than this stainless steel tumbler. It comes in an array of colors and two sizes and will keep your coffee warm for up to four hours–long enough for you to enjoy every single ounce WARM. It’s kind of a must for any coffee lover in your life!

Well, if I look back through this list, I certainly have a lot of wishes, don’t I? Good thing I already decided what I wanted MOST for the holidays, huh? And maybe you have a few ideas for the special people in your life now — double win!

What do YOU want most for Christmas this year? XOXO – K

What does one wear on a night out in a small Irish town? That was the question I was faced with Saturday night. I was headed out of Dublin, up to Drogheda, to stay with a dear friend of mine. She and her hubby were taking me out for dinner and then on to a charity boxing match where their friend was fighting, and finishing at the local pub.

As I stood staring in the wardrobe, I couldn’t help but feel compelled to my pink cowboy boots. Deciding to be true to my Southern roots (as my friend so kindly pointed out!), that was one item down.

Vintage, Italian leather, pink cowboy boots.

But the bigger question was what on earth to wear with the boots? I had half of my wardrobe on the bed, trying on at least 15 different things — I wanted effortless casual but comfortable! I had settled on a pair of my dark wash skinny jeans and a white, cuffed button down blouse. I remembered I had purchased some bangles in Penny’s the day before, so I grabbed those out of the shopping bag still on the dining table. A hint of sparkle! (I’m overly drawn to shiny things — they stop me mid-sentence and in my tracks quite often…)

When I reached in for the bangles, I saw the black, knit sweater dress I had also purchased. I immediately changed my mind and abandoned the jeans/button down and went for the sweater dress instead. It was warm, casual, and comfortable. You’ll find out in a future post why I keep wearing hose instead of tights these days, but for now, just know that I styled the dress with hose. (Photo below)

To add more sparkle to my outfit, I grabbed a silver flower ring out of my jewelry pile and threw on the chunky silver necklace I’d purchased with the bangles.

Throw on a little mascara, a hot pink lip (to match the nails of course!), and this was my Saturday “fight night” outfit. I seriously forgot to take a full photo until we were a few drinks in, so, here I am again with a poor quality photo from head to toe. But, you get the picture, right?

This was the first time I’ve ever owned, or worn, cowboy boots. Being a southern girl, this is probably a bit of a shock, but, I feel I’ll be getting tons of use out of these amazing boots! I also had a friend visiting Nashville this weekend, so these boots were styled for you, in honor of your trip to my home city.

Friends, how did I do? Shoot me a line and tell me your thoughts!
